This grant should be used to fund organizations, programs or initiatives that reduce barriers to opportunity. An Advisory Committee will select winning nonprofits that will receive funds to create change in the following areas of priority to include, but are not limited to:
- Anti-bias/Anti-racism Youth Diversity Training
- Criminal Justice Reform
- Education
- Employment
- History of Minority Groups in America
- Homelessness
- Mental Health Support Access
- Poverty
- Racial Equity
- Relational Policing
- Support for Children with Incarcerated Parents
- Workface and economic development (specifically Minority/Women-owned Business Enterprises MWBE)
Funding Information
The Texans and partners will award $400,000 to nonprofits and educational programs making a difference in Houston. Each nonprofit may apply for up to $50,000 in funding.
Eligibility Criteria
Organization must be a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational institution or school.
