The Foundation will carry out its mission by:
- Supporting a broad range of philanthropic interests in Huron County for good forever.
- Facilitating partnerships in identifying and addressing community challenges and opportunities.
- Educating the community and promote the foundation as a means of managing charitable gifts for donors; primarily in the form of permanent endowments.
- Making grants to address constantly changing community needs while fulfilling donor intent.

HCCF will focus on Prosperity by supporting Community & Economic Growth with a focus in the following Strategic Priority areas:
- Retaining and attracting a talented, trained workforce
- Creating vibrant and dynamic communities
- Cultivating an environment for business development Projects addressing one or more of the Strategic Priority areas will be given preference for unrestricted grantmaking dollars, however, HCCF also holds funds with the following interest areas.

Guidelines
To apply for a grant, please complete and return the attached application form along with a 1-page application summary outlining the following topic areas as they relate to the project:
- Project Description – A description and purpose of the project, how it will be carried out, how many people will be served, and the location of where the project is provided. What is the project’s organized goal with a foreseeable, long term benefit? Does the project benefit a significant number of people in the community with positive measurable results? How would a grant from HCCF be recognized?
- Applicant Organization – A brief description of the history of the applicant organization, when it was founded, and who it serves.
- Project Team – List the names and responsibilities of persons involved in planning and implementing the project. List any organizations that will assist you.
- Evaluation – Describe how you will determine if you accomplished your purpose.
- Budget – Include estimated project income and expenses. Include names of other incomes sources and whether these funds have been secured, as well as any fundraising.
