Focus Areas
United Way has a clear objective of identifying high-impact initiatives and applying financial investments in a targeted and meaningful way. As a direct result of our 2019 Community Assessment, this RFP is specifically targeting efforts aimed at alleviating intergenerational poverty in Tarrant County with a focus on addressing equity gaps and disparities in the following areas:
- Affordable Housing and Homelessness: emphasis on vulnerable families, episodically and/or chronically homeless.
- Education: emphasis on affordable, quality childcare, early childhood education/literacy, college/career/workforce readiness and/or college completion.
- Health: emphasis on physical, behavioral, emotional and/or mental health.
- Transportation: emphasis on transit to medical appointments, employment and/or school.
- Basic Needs and Financial Stability: emphasis on financial health/capability, access to emergency funds and/or career/workforce development.
Funding Information
- Tier 1: Requested amounts of $25,000 or less from organizations with annual budgets of $300,000 or less.
- Tier 2: Requested amounts of up to $125,000 from organizations with annual budgets greater than $300,000.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Active nonprofit organizations formed prior to January 2019, based and conducting proposed efforts in Tarrant County with at least two years of experience addressing the aforementioned issues.
