United Way of the Concho Valley’s mission is to promote health, education, and financial stability for every person in the Concho Valley. They do this by actively seeking partnerships with local community partners, both in the public and private sectors, to make positive, measurable, and lasting change for Concho Valley families. United Way funding strengthens a network of local programs and services prepared to address pressing needs in the Concho Valley because they know that community challenges are multifaceted, and they believe in collective, collaborative impact.
The Community Partner Funding Application requests a narrative for the scope, emphasis, and outcomes of the applying agency and program.
Community Partner Funding Eligibility
The organization must demonstrate competency in four main areas and meet the minimum requirements outlined in the application.
- Addressing community needs that align with United Way of the Concho Valley’s priority focus areas:
- To ensure all children are school-ready by kindergarten and grade-level readers by third grade
- To eliminate child abuse and domestic violence in the Concho Valley
- To provide access to all persons in need of mental health and substance use services
- Homelessness prevention and outreach services
- Good financial standing
- Sound governance by a Board of Directors
- At a minimum, organizations must provide the following to apply for and receive funding from the United Way of the Concho Valley:
- Be recognized as an organization exempt from federal income tax under IRS Section 501c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
- Be involved in providing program(s) and/or services related to health and human services serving individuals in the Concho Valley.
- Maintain a non-discrimination policy and plan.
- Be financially stable, and able to submit an annual certified audit and an IRS 990 tax form.
- Maintain a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion statement/policy.
- Comply with all federal and state laws.
