Details:
The Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County is able to fund:
- Up to 30 days of temporary shelter for abused, neglected, runaway, homeless or emotionally disturbed youth; respite care services; and services to unwed mothers.
- Outpatient chemical dependency and psychiatric treatment programs:
- Counseling and related services as a part of transitional living programs.
- Home-based and community- based family intervention programs.
- Unmarried parent services; crisis intervention services, inclusive of telephone hotlines.
- And prevention programs, which promote healthy lifestyle among children and youth and strengthen families.
- Individual, group, or family professional counseling and therapy services; psychological evaluations; and mental health screenings.
Areas of Interest
Examples of services that could be funded through the Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County include, but are not limited to:
- Temporary shelter for children and youth
- Counseling and in-home case management
- Parent education
- Family intervention programs
- Home-based family interventions
- Community-based family interventions
- Abuse prevention programming
Areas of Exclusion
The following are ineligible costs and activities for the Children’s Services Fund of Jackson County:
- Inpatient medical, psychiatric, and chemical dependency services.
- Transportation services.
- Capital campaigns, construction and building expenses.
Funding Information
- Instead of a project limit cap, CSF will now consider investing up to $750,000 annually in a single organization with Core Funding (no more than 1.5 million over 2-years).
- Contracts will be awarded for two-year projects, dates January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2026.
Eligibility Checklist
Organizations that can answer Yes to all the following are eligible to apply for this grant opportunity.
- Does the organization currently provide services to children ages 19 and under in Jackson County, Missouri?
- Is the agency or organization incorporated or authorized to do business in the State of Missouri as a not-for-profit corporation or a government entity?
- Does the agency or organization require all employees and volunteers to the agency to maintain the confidentiality of any information that would identify individuals served by that agency?
- Does the agency or organization require that within the limits of the contracted services, services be provided regardless of an individual’s race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disabling condition?
- Does the agency or organization require that employees and volunteers of the agency who provide direct services be screened as required by state statute?
- Does the organization commit to using any funds received from the Children’s Services Fund for only secular, public benefit programs? State law prohibits the use of public funds in support of religious worship or instruction.
