UWPC will make funding decisions that best align with the investment strategies within their Priority and Continued Focus strategy areas. This frame work is a roadmap for addressing crucial health and human service challenges facing Pasco County.
United Way of Pasco County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to improve lives for children, families, and individuals in all of Pasco County.
Three Priority Goal areas include programs combating Human Trafficking, Mental Illness, and Substance Addiction. UWPC is committing dedicated allocation funds for these three critical areas. Additionally, they partner with agencies in efforts to benefit Pasco County through the following Continued Focus areas: Elder/Child Abuse, Economic Mobility, Health, Homelessness, as well as Youth Success and Education. More detailed information regarding investment priorities can be found in the Priority Goals and Continued Focus Framework section of this document.
Priority Goals and Focus Area
- Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence: Increase housing and support services for victims of trafficking.
- Mental Health: Increase access to mental health care and reduce boundaries.
- Substance Addiction: Increase access to substance abuse recovery care and reduce county-wide overdose death rate.
- Elder/Child Abuse: Increase protective factors in adult/children’s lives. Increase access to trauma counseling for victims.
- Economic Mobility: Increase access to food and necessities for those in need. Reduce unemployment. Health Increase access to health care and reduce boundaries.
- Homelessness: Reduce homelessness in Pasco County.
- Youth Success and Education: Increase promotion/graduation rate, academic performance. Reduce dropout/retention rate.
Eligibility Criteria
Any agency seeking funding must:
- Serve residents of Pasco County through health and human services
- Have a 501(c)(3) status or other nonprofit designation, as stated from the IRS
- Submit a mandatory Letter of Intent
- Submit a fully completed application in Andar with required attachments.
- Present to a panel of UWPC volunteers, staff, and Board members.
