The United Way of Graham & Greenlee Counties will consider funding for:
- 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt organizations with eligible health and human service programs that are in good standing with the United Way Good standing requires successful completion of approved grant activities, submission of grant impact reports, engagement with True Impact for reporting on outcomes, valid marketing of the United Way, and any financial audit confirmation.
- Other tax-exempt organizations such as public and charter schools, municipal agencies, fiscal agents and other 501c nonprofit organizations
- All eligible grants, except infrastructure grants, with at least a 31% match of total project budget either in cash or in kind
- Infrastructure grants up to $200,000 with at least a 50% match of total project budget either in cash or in kind
- Sponsorship of Education and Health activities up to $2500
- Salaries that are paid to provide direct services to an agency’s target population
The United Way of Graham County does not provide funding for the following:
- Granting Foundations or pass-through funding for any purpose other than fiscal agency for distinctive projects or programs
- Public Works Projects (example: roads, sewers, utilities)
- Salaries to fund a specific staff position – Exception: If an organization can demonstrate
- the position would have a significant impact; and
- be sustainable. To demonstrate sustainability, the organization must present a specific plan to sustain the position long term. The position description will be reviewed by the Community Grant Advisory Committee and recommendations will be submitted to the UWGGC board. Exceptions will be approved on a case-by-case basis. The UWGGC Board of Directors will ultimately make the final decision.
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status
- Individuals, including support for specific students, researchers, travel funds, conference fees, medical procedures, etc.
- Grant administration fees
- Chromebooks
- Religious activities, churches, or church sponsored programs limited to church membership
- Political or lobbying organizations, or those supporting the candidacy of a particular individual
- Individual athletic teams (unless 501(c)(3) or tax exempt)
- Concerts or other entertainment events unless 501(c)(3) (example: Gila Valley Arts Program)
- Organizations or entities that may have known or reasonably perceived conflicts with the policies, procedures, programs and practices of United Way
- Organizations which may pose a threat to the State of Arizona or the United States of America
