The Foundation Community Grants committee prioritizes funding for organizations serving residents in Los Altos, Mountain View, and/or Los Altos Hills. They also recognize that many issues, particularly related to health services, housing, transportation, etc., are regional ones that may require resources, volunteers, and coordination from neighboring cities.
They prioritize organizations and projects in Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills with impact in one or more of the following areas:
- Supporting children, families, and/or senior citizens
- Enhancing community life
- Uplifting vulnerable populations
- Increasing educational opportunities
They are particularly interested in proposals from organizations represented by women and/or BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) leaders.
School programs are eligible for consideration.

In general, only one Community Grant will be awarded to an organization within a 12-month period.
Restrictions:
- LAMV-CF does not award multi-year grants. Grants may not be regranted. Grants are not awarded to religious, political, or profit-making organizations, or to individuals for personal benefit.
- The Foundation does not award grants to organizations that discriminate based on race, ancestry, color, age, familial status, handicap, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, lawful sources of income, national origin or documentation status, or any other discriminatory practice prohibited by state or federal law.
