Operating Support partners demonstrably advance the Arts and Education Council’s mission of ensuring access to an excellent, diverse and sustainable cultural community for the greater St. Louis region.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for an Operating Support Grant, organizations must meet (all) the following criteria:
- Have a primary mission to provide programs or activities in areas directly concerned with arts, arts education, or cultural heritage for the public with active programming for most of the year.
- Be based in one of the following counties in the St. Louis Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area (SMSA): Missouri: Jefferson, Franklin, Lincoln, St. Louis City and County, St. Charles, Warren, and Washington. Illinois: Bond, Calhoun, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair.
- Have a 501(c)(3) tax status for three or more years.
- Have maintained a balanced budget over the organization’s past three consecutive fiscal years.
- Employ at least one FTE (Full Time Equivalent) and/or contract professional and/or administrative staff (full time is defined as a minimum of 30 hours per week.)
- Remain a 501(c)(3) for the duration of the grant period or the grant will be forfeited.
- Operate under board-approved annual budgets of $250,000 annually or more.
