HFGM incentivizes area youth to become involved in building a healthier community through its Community Giving High School Volunteer Program. Students from area high schools who participate in the annual program receive a grant from HFGM to develop and execute a community activism project that addresses a health-related issue in their community.
HFGM seeks to encourage ideas and proposals from the health and wellness sector. Proposals must demonstrate well-planned programs and activities that promote physical, emotional and mental health.
Eligibility Criteria
Grants are made to entities recognized as tax-exempt charities under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and governmental entities. HFGM does not normally approve grants to support the following:
- Overhead and/or administrative costs not directly associated with the proposed project or program
- Annual appeals or membership drives
- Fundraising projects
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Travel for individuals or groups (if that is the primary focus)
- Endowment funds
- Individuals or groups
- Lobbying activities
