United Way Worldwide recognizes three major impact areas of Education, Financial Stability, and Health as the building blocks for a good quality of life. United Way of Staunton, Augusta County, and Waynesboro expands on each of these focus points to include six additional impact areas. In order for a program to be eligible for a community impact grant, it must align with at least one of the six priority areas specified in this application.
UWSAW is committed to funding partners who focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion within their organization and services. Additionally, mission includes assisting and supporting organizations that actively serve the ALICE population within community.
Funds may be used to start a new program, or for the expansion of an existing program, and may be used for operational, administrative, staffing and supply expenses related to program support.
Project Period
This grant cycle will cover the program period of January 1, 2024 – December 31, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organization must be able to demonstrate proof of non-profit status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Special circumstances will be considered.
- The program must impact citizens of Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.
- The organization MUST NOT require participants to engage in religious activities in any part of the program being funded by the grant.
- The organization must meet state and federal financial guidelines for a nonprofit.
- Grant funds are restricted for the use for the program specified in this application. As a condition of any award, the organization must have a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Statement posted on its website no later than December 31, 2023.
