Awards may be used for emergency costs due to coronavirus. These costs may include food, housing, transportation, health care (including mental health care), or child care. Students must accept their award when they are notified, and they have the option of applying it to their outstanding university balance or getting it sent directly to them.
U.S. Department of Education, the funds have been allocated to aid students with any component of the student’s cost of attendance, including tuition, books, and technology.

The value of the award will be $500 or $650, depending on your expected family contribution:
- EFC 0-5,846: $650
- EFC 5,847-15,000: $500
Awards may be used for emergency costs due to coronavirus. These costs may include food, housing, transportation, health care (including mental health care), or child care. Students must accept their award when they are notified, and they have the option of applying it to their outstanding university balance or getting it sent directly to them. Students who do not receive automatic awards but who have experienced significant unexpected expenses such as loss of employment, reduced income, or food or housing insecurity can apply for a grant of up to $500.
Eligibility Criteria
According to the U.S. Department of Education, schools must identify students with exceptional need for this grant aid. Funds can be distributed to undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Students exclusively enrolled online, international, and DACA students are now eligible to receive these funds.
