The goal of this program is to increase the number of small businesses in Richmond, help small businesses in Richmond expand, and assist small businesses that have been negatively affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. The money is being made available through the federal American Rescue Plan Act.

The Town of Richmond is offering grants of up to $5,000 to small businesses.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, your business must meet the following conditions:
- The business must be a for-profit business located in Richmond. Schools, public or private foundations, government or quasi-government entities, or landlords or real estate investment businesses are not eligible.
- The business cannot be owned by a national or regional chain. If the business is a franchise, it must be owned by a person or a business entity located in Rhode Island.
- The business must have fewer than twenty paid employees (payroll receipts may be requested).
- The business must have annual sales or gross receipts of less than $500,000.
- The business must be currently in operation in Richmond, moving to Richmond, or be expanding their operation in Richmond.
