Annual renewable scholarship established by anonymous donors in honor of Bernard (Bernie) Riedford, a teacher, who was instrumental in a program designed to introduce Mount Vernon High School students to the multiple professions available in the field of health care.

Eligibility Criteria
Graduating seniors of Mt. Vernon High School with a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) pursuing a two- or four-year degree at any accredited college or university in Indiana, Western Kentucky (which offers in-state tuition to Indiana residents) or Wabash Valley College in Southeastern Illinois. Applicants must be planning to pursue a major course of study in healthcare including, but not limited to, nursing, pre-medicine, occupational therapy, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pre-dentistry, or pre-optometry.
