The District of Columbia’s Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs (MOLA) is soliciting grant applications from qualified 501(c)(3) community-based organizations (CBOs) serving the District’s Latino constituents [residents and/or business owners] –for its FY2022 Multicultural Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).

The grant is intended to provide District of Columbia youth ages 14-24 with meaningful and structured summer experience and career readiness opportunities and services with a variety of community-based partners for the duration of the SYEP.
Funding Areas
In FY 2022, the Multicultural Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) will fund programs with demonstrated ties to Mayor Bowser’s priority areas and community needs in the following program areas:
- Recovery from COVID-19 (economic, education, health, housing)
- Education
- Jobs & Economic Development
- Public Safety
- Civic Engagement
- Health & Wellness
- Youth Engagement
- Arts & Creative Economy
Funding Information
- Eligible organizations can be awarded up to $15,000 plus additional funding for youth participant stipends.
- The grant will be awarded for 29 days starting on June 28, 2021, and ending on August 5, 2021.
Target Population
- The target population for this grant is bona fide DC residents ages 14-24.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations that meet the following eligibility requirements at the time of application may apply:
- Be a Community-Based Organization (CBO) with a Federal 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status or evidence of fiscal agent relationship with a 501 (c)(3) organization;
- The organization or program serves the District’s Latinx residents or business owners;
- The organization’s principal place of business is located in the District of Columbia;
- All services and programming to receive funds must be provided in the District of Columbia;
- The organization is currently registered in good standing with the DC Department of Consumer & Regulatory Affairs, Corporation Division, and the Office of Tax and Revenue;
- Current grantees of other MOLA’s grant programs must be current on any grant reporting and deliverables requirements obligations for the FY22 grant cycle.
