These mini-grants will be disbursed to six immigrant-serving nonprofit organizations who currently provide or incorporate non-clinical mental health practices in their programming.
Non-clinical mental health practices are defined as peer-led and community-based wellness interventions engaging with expressive arts, traditional medicine, spirituality, or body-centered activities. Examples of these group practices include peace circles, storytelling, yoga, and meditation. These practices can promote well-being and reduce the potential escalation and severity of mental health conditions of immigrant communities, and they act as alternatives to Western individual talking therapy.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a Boston-based nonprofit 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization
- Or be affiliated with a fiscal sponsor
- Work with underserved immigrant populations in Boston
- Provide or incorporate non-clinical mental health interventions in their programming, ensuring culturally and linguistically sensitive procedures
- Be in good financial standing and be able to provide data that allows for assessment of the impact of the distributed funds
- Have clearly defined and achievable objectives that support immigrant well-being
- Have clearly defined leadership structure
- Have capacity to successfully implement programming that supports mental health (i.e., number of staff, staff experience, time, resources)
