The Income and Wealth Fund supports organizations that:
- Make education and career pathways with opportunities for economic mobility accessible to workers who have traditionally been excluded
- Are providing access to capital for people who have traditionally been denied access
- Are working to increase economic security for community members
Through this funding opportunity, the Income and Wealth Fund seeks to support organizations providing the following types of programming and advocacy:
- Direct cash transfer programming, inclusive of but not limited to:
- Guaranteed Income
- Baby Bond
- Savings Match programs
- Programming that increases accessibility to social safety net and work support programs, inclusive of but not limited to:
- Child Tax Credit
- Earned Income Tax Credit
- SNAP
- Medicaid
- Financial coaching focused on wealth-building and debt prevention/elimination
- Advocacy for:
- consumer protections and reforms
- dismantling systems of wealth extraction
- increased accessibility, efficiency, and flexibility in social safety net and work support programs
Through this funding opportunity, the Income and Wealth Fund seeks to support programming that is:
- Innovative
- Potentially scalable and/or replicable
- In the pilot or growth phase
Funding Information
- Total funding available: up to $500,000
- Grant awards will range between: $10,000 – $75,000
- Projected number of grant awards made: 10-25
Priority Groups
Priority will be given to organizations with annual operating budgets under $2 million and to Black, Indigenous and People Color (BIPOC) led and serving organizations, which is defined as organizations that meet at least three of the following four criteria:
- Organizational leader is BIPOC;
- Majority of board members are BIPOC;
- Majority of clients served are BIPOC; and/or
- Staffing of the organization or the program/project of which funds are requested are BIPOC
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this funding opportunity, organizations must:
- Be located and providing services within the following Georgia counties; all grant funds must be spent within the following Georgia counties:
- Cherokee
- Clayton
- Cobb
- DeKalb
- Douglas
- Fayette
- Forsyth
- Fulton
- Gwinnett
- Henry
- Rockdale
- Be classified by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the I.R.S. code as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, donations to which are deductible as charitable contributions under Section 170 (c)(2) and the I.R.S. determination must be current
- Be registered with the Georgia Secretary of State as a nonprofit
- Directly provide services the grant opportunity intends to fund
