The Dennis Arts and Culture Council is designed to support Dennis arts — visual, interpretive, and performing. The Council approves efforts that directly benefit Dennis residents, full-time and part-time, and Dennis artists with funding provided by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. Priorities are developed with community input.
Local Priorities
- Project must benefit people in the town of Dennis – i.e., audiences, artists, students, residents, and visitors.
- Preference is given to local/regional applicants and activities that demonstrate a clear cultural benefit to the Dennis community.
- Applicants must state how the proposed project will benefit the Dennis community.
- If the project is a regional event that includes additional towns or has been submitted to additional local cultural councils, applicants must describe specifically how the project will attract and benefit the Dennis participants.
Funding Information
- Awards generally are not less than $150 or more than $1,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Preference is given to Dennis residents.
- Programs should serve a broad audience.
- Support for emerging artists.
- Applicants should provide more substantial evidence of their program, such as a recording or video.
- Preference for local artists (Cape-wide as opposed to off-Cape).
- Preference for projects that are free, discounted, or lot cost/affordable.
- Program needs to demonstrate a public benefit component (i.e., how will your program engage and benefit the residents?).
