Additional Details:
- $160,000 in total will be distributed to micro business owners with individual grants being available from $5,000 – $15,000
- Grants can be used for assistance with but not limited to: payroll, rent, utilities, inventory, and marketing
- Business must be located in the City of Racine
- Grants available to small businesses with five or fewer employees, including the owner
Eligibility Criteria
- The initial application will be short; however, additional documentation will be requested to verify eligibility
- Businesses can be a start-up or existing business
- Businesses cannot be a non-profit business structure
- Business needs to be in good standing with the State of Wisconsin and current on all local, state and federal taxes
- To comply with the needs of the grant, the business owner must meet the following requirements and agree to the following criteria:
- The business must be a micro-business with five or fewer employees (including the owner)
- The owner’s household income must be under 80% of the area median income
- OR: The owner must agree to create a full-time or equivalent job for a person whose household income is under 80% of the area median income. This job creation requirement must be met within 12 months.
