Grants will be made to eligible tax-exempt organizations for programs that directly benefit youth between the ages of 0 and 18 years old. Select programs/teams, those that allow participation of a few children are not eligible to apply, when other organizations are available to offer the same recreational opportunities. Half of the total funding available is allocated to benefit youth programs where 75% of the youth reside in the Lawrenceburg school district and the other half is allocated for youth programs that benefit youth programs where 90% of the youth reside in Dearborn County. Applicants must provide the percentage of youth that reside in Lawrenceburg school district and the percentage of youth that reside in Dearborn County for their program participants.
Funding Information
The maximum grant award per organization per calendar year is $8,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations serving residents of Dearborn County that are recognized as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) under IRC section 501(c)(3) or under section 501(c) are eligible to apply for grants from DCF.
- If a tax-exempt organization is not a 501(c)(3), then the purpose of the grant request must be charitable as defined by the IRS. Grants awarded to non-501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations will be proportionate to the charitable purpose of the grant request.
Ineligibility
The Lawrenceburg Youth Grant Program does not provide grant funding for the following items:
- Salaries;
- Employee benefits;
- Prizes;
- Trophies, medals and/or ribbons/awards;
- All-Star team uniforms;
- Coaches uniforms; and
- Referee fees, umpire fees and scorekeeper fees.
