The 2023-24 Community Grants Program will provide up to $5,000 of one-time grants to eligible organizations that were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic or are offering programs and services to address the economic impacts of COVID-19.
Grant Categories
- Programs for which funding is requested must qualify under one of the categories below:
- Community and Social Services: Funding for programs and services that address identified community needs or problems (as stated in the City’s General Plan, Major City Goals, or other policies). These may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Crisis Intervention and/or Centers
- Health and Safety
- Youth-Serving Agencies
- Social service agencies and programs.
- Bilingual service agencies
- Low-income service agencies
- Homelessness
- Project: Funding for one-time projects designed to address a significant community need or problem. City funding shall be limited to a specific timeframe, usually not more than one year
- Community and Social Services: Funding for programs and services that address identified community needs or problems (as stated in the City’s General Plan, Major City Goals, or other policies). These may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for award of a community grant, agencies must:
- Submit a separate, completed application form for each project or program
- Be incorporated as a tax-exempt nonprofit corporation (IRS 501-C) and/or exist as another government entity
- Operate in or provide direct services to the community of Grover Beach
- Demonstrate the managerial and financial capability to receive and expend grant funds
- Assure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws including but not limited to non-discrimination requirements.
