Different communities are disproportionately impacted by breast cancer and other diseases in different ways. These issues need to be vocalized and addressed in order to incite change. For example, while breast cancer is more common in white women, the mortality rate for Black women is higher.
The KAB Give Back Grant program seeks to counteract the injustice and inequality in the healthcare system through financial aid for BIPOC women who are survivors or diagnosed with breast cancer.
Grants can be used for:
- Medical Treatment (hospital bills, mental health, co-pays, rides, etc.)
- Alternative Care (acupuncture, massage therapy, etc.)
- Financial (rent, utilities, groceries, etc.)
- Business (investment in your own small business)
- Essential Self Care (Time off, vacation, meditation retreat, spa day)
Funding Information
The grant award is $500 to each selected grantee. KAB is granting a total of $100k in awards.
Eligibility Criteria
Anyone who is a BIPOC woman living in the US who has been diagnosed with breast cancer or is a breast cancer survivor may apply.
