First Peoples Fund (FPF) supports culture bearers & artists to be self-determined. They recognize them as the threads that sustain the cultural fabric of a community. They are holistic leaders and knowledge carriers that seek and share knowledge and skills; inspire and motivate others; and support themselves and their families. FPF’s fellowships support these goals and strengthen the Collective Spirit® of culture bearers and artists.
It is critical that art, culture and ancestral knowledge are passed on from one generation to the next. Through First Peoples Fund’s Cultural Capital Program, culture bearers in tribal communities receive financial and technical support to further their important work of passing on ancestral knowledge and cultural practices within their tribal communities.
