GoalsÂ
- To facilitate accountability, justice, and reconciliation for the thousands of cold case murder victims associated with civil rights violations by identifying, investigating, prosecuting, and resolving these cases.
- Enhance the capacity of state, local, and tribal law enforcement and prosecutors and their partners to identify, investigate, and prosecute these cases.
- To facilitate healing and resolution for the families and stakeholders impacted by these murders.
Objectives
- Increase the number of state, local, and tribal investigations and prosecutions of civil rights-related cold case murders.
- Increase the numbers of families, stakeholder organizations, and communities engaged in reviewing, investigating, researching, and discussing these cases.
- To increase public awareness of and support for families and communities impacted by these crimes.
