This grant program supports the critical work of state and territory domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions and is a set-aside program under the OVW STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program statute. These organizations play an important role in advancing the goal of ending domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Purpose Areas
Pursuant to 34 U.S.C. § 10441(c), funds under the STOP set-aside for domestic violence coalitions and sexual assault coalitions must be used for one or more of the following purposes:
- Coordinating state and territory victim services activities.
- Collaborating and coordinating with federal, state, territory, and local entities engaged in violence against women activities.
Funding Information
Funding levels under the Coalitions Program for FY 2024 are:
- Domestic Violence Coalitions: Awards to domestic violence coalitions in each state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands for FY 2024 will be made for $113,933 under the STOP set-aside for domestic violence coalitions.
- Sexual Assault Coalitions: Awards to sexual assault coalitions in each state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands for FY 2024 will be made for $114,185 under the STOP set-aside for sexual assault coalitions and for $135,907 under the SASP state and territorial coalitions set-aside. The total award amount is $250,092. The budget submitted by a sexual assault coalition must clearly identify the STOP set-aside for sexual assault coalitions and the SASP set-aside funding streams.
- Dual Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Coalitions: Awards to dual sexual and domestic violence coalitions (dual coalitions) for FY 2024 will be made for $113,933 under the STOP set-aside for domestic violence coalitions and for $114,185 under the STOP set-aside for sexual assault coalitions. Under the SASP state and territorial coalitions set-aside, awards will be made for $135,907.
Project Period
The award period is 12 months.
