The CDBG Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and authorized by Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of the CDBG Program is to benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and households by funding projects that provide essential public services, revitalize neighborhoods, increase affordable housing, expand economic opportunities, and/or improve community facilities.
Funding may be used for projects such as: housing, street improvements, parks, community revitalization, public service, and neighborhood facilities. Proposed projects/programs must serve the purpose of the CDBG program, be eligible.
Goals from the 2020-2024 Consolidated Plan: support life sustaining and well-being services, minimize impacts and occurrences of homelessness, expand housing affordability, improve public facilities, promote viable neighborhoods.
Funding Information
- It is expected that Sandy City will receive approximately $350,000 in CDBG funds for the 2024 Program Year, which begins July 1, 2024 and ends June 30, 2025.
- Funding for all public services combined is likely to be restricted to approximately $60,000.
Eligibility Criteria
The funding request application is available, to non-profit organizations that serve low to moderate income residents of Sandy City.
