Funds will assist to implement projects, programs and initiatives that support the LGBTQ+ community. These projects must address real LGBTQ+ community needs and offer long-term benefits that are in alignment with community priorities and needs related to LGBTQ+ advancement work. Organizations and individuals doing work especially within intersectional communities such as older adults, youth, BIPOC, disabilities, and gender expansive are strongly encouraged to apply.
MOLA wishes to promote the equity, inclusion, and stability of Boston’s LGBTQ+ community as well as bolstering social and community supports. MOLA will consider projects and events which help bring us closer to MOLA’s vision of Boston being a city for ALL residents and families.

Grants will be made to to support programs that expand upon the following focus areas:
- Housing (for example; housing and homelessness services)
- Community + Public Safety (for example; LGBTQ+ friendly spaces, disability justice)
- Health + Wellness (for example; transgender health awareness programs, educational campaigns, mental health, parenting/co-parenting, substance use disorder harm reduction programs)
- LGBTQ+ Artists + Culture Visibility (for example; transgender/non binary Bostonian visibility, arts, LGBTQ+ serving events)
- Civic Engagement (for example; environmental/green educational campaigns, policy forums)
- Upward Economic Mobility (for example; small businesses, programs and spaces for entrepreneurs, youth jobs)
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals or non profit organizations serving Boston’s LGBTQ+ community
- Community-based organizations that do not have non-profit status must partner with a fiscal sponsor that is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. If you do NOT have a fiscal sponsor, staff will assist you.
- Committed to the advancement, empowerment, and inclusion of LGBTQ+ community in the social, economic, civic, and cultural life of Boston
- Demonstrates an understanding and response to the diverse LGBTQ+ community needs of Boston
- Demonstrated a history of collaboration, providing a sustainable resources, advocacy work and/or providing direct service
