Through this funding opportunity, the Housing and Neighborhoods TogetherATL Fund will prioritize proposals which align with one or more of the below categories:
- Center equity, particularly racial equity, throughout their work
- Center the community they serve, incorporating their input and feedback
- Work with historically underserved populations, or those without adequate resources and opportunities
- Are led by organizations categorized as people of color-led and -serving, defined as organizations that meet at least three of the four following criteria:
- Organizational leader is a person of color
- Majority of board members are people of color
- Majority of clients served are people of color
- Staffing of the organization or of the program/project supported are representative of the population served
- Address additional systems of focus for the Foundation:
- Arts, Culture and Creative Enterprises
- Income and Wealth
- Power and Leadership
- Address the Foundation’s places of focus:
- College Park/East Point, in South Fulton
- Fair Oaks, in South Cobb
- Historic Thomasville, in Southeast Atlanta.

Assistance from this fund is intended to support safe, stable affordable housing. The types of specific outcomes and projects that may be supported range significantly, and the support is intended to cover a wide variety of opportunities.
Funding Information
The Foundation cannot guarantee funding to every applicant, given the limited funding available. Funding requests may include up to 30% of the applicant organization’s most recent annual expenses and should fall between $20,000 – $50,000. Awards will vary in size based on the number of applicants and funds requested.
- Grant awards will range between: $20,000 – $50,000.
- Projected number of grant awards made: 10 – 20.
- Grants may not be passed through to other nonprofit organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for this funding opportunity, groups must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must be classified by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the I.R.S. code as a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, donations to which are deductible as charitable contributions under Section 170 (c)(2), and the I.R.S. determination must be current. Alternatively, applicants may be operating under a fiscal sponsor, which must maintain an active 501(c)(3) certification.
- The proposal must support work within the five core counties of the metro Atlanta region: Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties. In the Policy category, proposals may address statewide policy as well.
