The purpose of these grants is to fund resilient and sustainable electric vehicle charging stations in underserved wards. These areas fit US DOE’s application criteria because they are vehicle dependent, low/moderate income, lack EV charging infrastructure, have high energy/charging costs, and are grid constrained.
DOEE seeks one or more partners to assist in determining how best to meet the need for affordable, resilient, sustainable, grid-friendly, public electric vehicle charging in underserved District of Columbia wards.

The amount available for the project is $750,000.
Project Period
The performance period is 24-36 months.

- Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations;
- Faith-based organizations;
- Government agencies;
- Universities/educational institutions; and
- Private Enterprises
