Funding Opportunity Goals
BLM has an opportunity to work with a partner organization and enjoy broad-based support through the Secure Rural Schools Act, Title II : for projects that improve the maintenance of existing infrastructure, implement stewardship objectives that enhance forest ecosystems, and restore and improve land health and water quality. Such projects shall enjoy broad-based support with objectives that may include, but are not limited to:
- Road, trail, and infrastructure maintenance or obliteration
- Soil productivity improvement Improvements in forest ecosystem health
- Watershed restoration and maintenance
- Restoration, maintenance and improvement of wildlife and fish habitat
- Control of noxious and exotic weed
- Reestablishment of native species.
Funding Information
- Maximum Award: $250,000
- Minimum Award: $5,000
Grant Period
Projects cannot be funded for more than a five-year period.

- Independent school districts
- County governments
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- State governments
- Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)

- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- Private institutions of higher education
- Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
