The Healthy Watertown Grants will support organizations that serve Watertown to develop new or continue existing programs with a health focus. Examples of programs eligible for Healthy Watertown Grants include but are not limited to:
- Programs to support Mental Health and Behavioral Health Care Needs for residents of all ages.
- Food insecurity – programs and services to expand access to SNAP and Healthy Incentive Program (HIP) benefits and food pantry programs or equipment needs
- Programs/services fostering healthy aging
- Programs designed to provide services and supports to address substance use disorders
- Health-related programs for infants and their families
- Supplies/tools for community gardenss
Health programs that serve students in Watertown’s public schools should apply to the School-based grant program.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a Healthy Watertown Grant, organizations must be public entities, nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, or an organization that is affiliated with a 501(c)(3) organization. Organizations must::
- Be based in Watertown and serve the town’s residents or, if based outside of Watertown, can document an existing partnership with an organization that directly serves Watertown residents AND
- Provide a program or service to the community.
