The United Way of Washtenaw County is seeking applications for its Community Impact grants Program to support solutions that mitigate and disrupt the intersectional impacts of poverty, racism and trauma, root causes of systemic oppression and three forces which hold opportunity at bay for all people in Washtenaw County.

Purpose
United Way of Washtenaw County brings people, resources and organization together to create a thriving community for everyone. As stewards of Washtenaw County resources, decisions about who receives United Way grants are made collectively by community members. They are presently seeking volunteers who work within the local human services sector, as well as individuals who have accessed social services, to serve on their grants review team.
Requirements
- Not employed by an organization or group submitting a proposal for funding.
- Live or work in Washtenaw County
- Be able to dedicate at least 25 hours of service including required training, reviewing and scoring applications, and making funding recommendations between April – May 2022.
- Access to a PC and WiFi.
- Knowledge of—through work within or lived experience with—local social services.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and not share applicant information outside of meetings.
- Disclosure of relationships with local nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, local school districts or government (as a volunteer, board member, donor, staff member, or relative of a staff or board member) and completion of Shared Relationship form and a non-disclosure agreement.
