The Women’s Education Coalition is a collaborative of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; the YWCA of Kalamazoo and the former Kalamazoo Network.
Uses of Funds
Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, childcare, transportation, and other educational needs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Women residing in Kalamazoo, Barry, Calhoun, Allegan, St. Joseph or Van Buren County who have had a significant break in their education or are seeking additional education to improve their career and pay opportunities are eligible. Applicants should be able to demonstrate how post-high school education will assist in reaching goals of increased financial independence. Priority will be given to underemployed working mothers and those enrolling or enrolled in not-for-profit educational institutions.
