The purpose of the FY 2022 HSGP grant is to provide funds to eligible entities to support state, local, tribal, and territorial efforts to prevent terrorism and other catastrophic events and to prepare the Nation for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the security of the United States.
The HSGP supports the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review Mission to Strengthen National Preparedness and Resilience. HSGP funds a range of activities, including planning, organization, equipment purchase, training, exercises, and management and administration across all core capabilities and mission areas. At least eighty percent (80%) of funds must be passed through to local or tribal units of government. At least twenty-five percent (25%) of the overall HSGP funds received by the state must be dedicated towards law enforcement terrorism prevention activities (LETPA).
