The goals of The Foundation’s A Journey to What Matters grant program are as follows:
- Promote intergenerational transference of knowledge of Alaska Native artistic and cultural practices
- Support Alaska Native artists

Grantees should plan to complete their project within 12 months of the project start date, unless the project is a multi-year grant.
Eligibility Criteria
A Journey to What Matters Project Grants may be submitted to The CIRI Foundation by one of the following:
- Nonprofit organizations classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity (including but not limited to cultural centers and museums)
- Tribal organizations throughout Alaska
- Nonprofit or tribal organizations as sponsors of Alaska Native individuals
- Governmental educational institutions such as public schools
