This program will provide potential participants with access to the financial tools and qualified individuals who can guide and support them so they can take the steps to build a good credit score and embrace sound credit management in their emerging businesses.
MWF is dedicated to the growth of their entrepreneurs. MWF is a community development organization whose mission is to expand economic opportunity, empower the next generation and celebrate and honor the accomplishments of Michigan women.
The workshops will educate these business owners on:
- The 5Cs of credit, credit scores, the importance of credit scores to business owners and lenders.
- How and where to get and monitor a credit score and credit reports.
- Information needed to set a credit goal and maintain good credit.
The participant will meet the coach to set specific credit goal and receive one-on-one coaching to support achievement of the goals:
- Participants and the coach will initially meet to discuss the participant’s goals as they relate to credit and MWF’s small business support program.
- The participant and coach will review the credit report to gain an understanding of what steps need to be made to achieve the participant’s goals.
- The participant and coach will create a cost-of-living plan to understand the full financial situation of the participant.
- If the participant needs to address outstanding credit obligations, the participant will be sent to credit repair partners for support.
- The participant and coach will determine which credit building tools best fit the participant’s goals and needs.
- The participant and coach will meet monthly to measure progress of goals and reassess goals if necessary.
This program is free and open to entrepreneurs who live in Southeast Michigan.
