The Department of Agriculture is pleased to offer grant vouchers to Connecticut non-profit organizations for the purpose of providing vaccination and sterilization benefits for feral cats.
Donor Name: Connecticut Department of Agriculture
State: Connecticut
County: All Counties
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 11/30/2022
Details:
“Feral cat” means a cat of the species Felis catus that is unowned, that exists in a wild or untamed state or has returned to an untamed state from domestication and whose behavior is suggestive of a wild animal.
The current per cat reimbursement rates are:
- $120 to spay
- $80 to neuter
- $15 to vaccinate up $30 (2 vaccines)
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the grant your organization must be a registered non-profit and provide assistance in the control of feral cats. Sterilizations and vaccinations must be performed by a Connecticut Licensed Veterinarian participating in the Animal Population Control Program and you must complete the Feral Cat Grant Outcome Report.
Note: Historically interest in the program exceeds the available funding. If the total of all requests exceeds available funding, the department provides funding to eligible organizations proportionately, based on the number of cats funding is requested for. The department reimburses participating veterinarians directly up to the amount your grant is funded for.
