The Burke Women’s Fund aspires to connect all parts of the community and to bring a diverse group of women together around substantive issues relating to women and families.
The vision of the Burke Women’s Fund is to:
- advance the power of collective giving among Burke County women
- empower women in meaningful and purposeful ways
- gain a deeper understanding of the issues that affect women and families in our community
- provide impactful financial support which improves the quality of life for all
BWF Funding Priorities include:
- Programs and services that support the needs and enrich the lives of women and families
- Programs and services that offer experiences to a diverse population of women and families
- Programs and services that address the basic needs of traditionally underserved populations
BWF encourages proposals that:
- demonstrate collaboration and cooperation
- affect a deeper level of cultural awareness or provides exposure to arts/music
- provide an innovative approach to addressing community needs
- enhance or improve organizations that serve clients whose needs are not being met by existing services
- emphasize prevention and early intervention
BWF is inclined to give favorable consideration to proposals that:
- are pilot programs that can clearly be used as a model for others
- have reasonable prospects for future support
- foster partnership or fellowship between individuals or groups of different backgrounds/experiences
Criteria
BWF grants are made to tax-exempt, 501(c) (3) organizations that have programs or projects impacting the lives of women and their families in Burke County. The Community Foundation of Burke County has implemented the Foundation online grant management system
