This program funds various nonprofit agencies and other city departments to implement services that benefit low- and moderate-income persons. Grantees are selected through an annual competitive process. The CDBG process involves citizen participation and public input. Public hearings and meetings are held in conjunction with the proposal application process to identify and address community needs. Infrastructure installation or improvements, Economic or Community Development activities and Public Service programs are generally the recipients of the grant funds.
This program provides grants for neighborhood revitalization, affordable housing, expand economic opportunities, and/or improve community facilities and services. All projects and programs must principally benefit low-and moderate-income persons. The city also encourages projects and programs assisted by other funding sources to help leverage the CDBG allocation.
