This grant program is funded by the City of Temple General Fund. The City invites any outside non-profit, 501 (c), agency, or organization to apply. The focus areas are home improvement, homeless services, or services that decrease barriers to employment.
Eligibility Criteria
Key program requirements include:
- Must provide programs and/or services within the City of Temple and be a not-for-profit (public or private), governmental or quasi-governmental entity organized and existing under the Texas law;
- Must be recognized by and provide proof of tax-exempt status under Section 501 (c) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United Stated, unless the agency is a governmental or quasi-governmental entity;
- Have an accounting system in place and able to prepare and provide financial statements as required/requested;
- Practice non-discrimination in all hiring and service provision;
- Not discriminate based on religion, nor provide religious instruction, counseling, worship services, nor proselytizing, and must exert no religious influence in the provision of the public service being funded with City dollars;
- Provide annual reports and allow the City of Temple to monitor the use of granted funds;
- Have officers, agents, employees, etc. who do not have a financial interest in the project, except on behalf of the provided as an officer, employee, or board member (non-collusion); and
- Only spend funds on items in the approved budget.
- Proposed projects must focus on home improvement, homeless services, or services that decrease barriers to employment (ex: transportation, childcare).
