In celebration of America Recycles Day, all of Nevada’s K-12 students are invited to showcase their artistic talent and their commitment to recycling by participating in the Nevada Recycles Poster Contest.
Donor Name: Nevada Division of Environmental Protection
State: Nevada
County: All Counties
Type of Grant: Contest
Deadline: 10/13/2022
Details:
Nevada has a recycling rate goal of 25%. This means that they want to divert at least 25% of its waste away from landfills into better uses, such as recycling or composting. Reaching this goal can be accomplished by properly recycling more materials and reducing the waste. A great way to reduce waste is to refuse single-use items, such as plastic straws, bags, cups, and utensils. Therefore this year, the Poster Contest theme is focused on reducing waste to increase the recycling rate. Two ways to reduce waste include buying or taking only what you need and extending the life span of an item by reusing it.

- One winner from each grade category will be awarded a grand prize of a $25 gift card for themselves along with sustainability prizes.
