Grants are made only to youth-led programs, meaning that youth are involved in the vision for the project, the development of the application, and will be involved in implementing the work if a grant is received; it’s great if the youth have adult allies who are assisting or supporting them in their effort, but youth must be involved for a grant to be considered.
Funding Information
The YAC is planning to make grants of $10,000 to 11 school districts and youth-led nonprofits for projects to offer preventative solutions that foster ongoing dialogue, trust, and a supportive school environment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant organizations must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, school district, or faith-based organization in good standing with the IRS and have a financial audit or financial review.
- Any local public, private, or charter schools in the 7 counties in southeast Michigan (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Livingston, St. Clair, Monroe) applying for their school community.
- Youth-led nonprofits and youth development applicant organizations must partner with their local school district in some way.
