The Princeton Area Community Foundation is pleased to announce History Organization Grant to provide financial support to catalyze an equitable statewide recovery and build resilience for New Jersey-based smaller nonprofit arts and culture organizations.
Donor Name: Princeton Area Community Foundation
State: New Jersey
County: All Counties
Type of Grant: Grant
Deadline: 05/04/2023
Size of the Grant: up to $50,000
Details:
Phase 6 of the New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund (NJARCF) grantmaking will provide unrestricted grants to eligible nonprofit History organizations negatively impacted by ongoing pandemic recovery challenges and/or negatively impacted by non-pandemic challenges. While the grant application is open to all historical organizations who meet eligibility requirements, in recognition of long-standing disparities in funding and acknowledging that the pandemic disproportionately affected Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC), it will prioritize small to medium-sized History organizations that are BIPOC-led and/or whose primary focus is on African American, Indigenous, Latinx, or other BIPOC History or culture.
The New Jersey Arts and Culture Renewal Fund centers equity in its grantmaking. The Fund seeks to address the underrepresentation and incomplete storytelling that has marginalized the creative, historical, and intellectual contributions of Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other People of Color (BIPOC) in New Jersey. Foundation seeks to support organizations that highlight the historical contributions of BIPOC individuals, preserve places of historical significance to BIPOC communities and preserve and interpret the histories of BIPOC people and communities.
Priority Criteria
The Foundation anticipates the number of requests will exceed the available funds in this round of grantmaking. The foundation will consider the following aspects of the requests and give priority to:
- Organizations whose primary focus is on the history of African American, Indigenous, Latinx, and/or other People of Color.
- Organizations currently and historically most affected by systemic injustice.
- Organizations who protect, preserve, and/or offer public programming at sites of significance to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color) communities and/or BIPOC cultures.
- Organizations with clear evidence of engagement with their community.
- Organizations that are BIPOC-led and/or BIPOC-serving.
- Organizations showing clear evidence of inclusive and intentional practices in Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion (DEAI).
Funding Information
Organizations can apply for up to $50,000. Request amount should not exceed 25% of the organization’s operational budget.
