The Greenways Foundation, Inc. (GFI), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, operates as a charitable trust working to promote the growth, enhancement and use of Indiana greenways and blueways. Their goal is to assist communities throughout the state in realizing the economic, social and health benefits of linear parks.
Trails include those for walkers/runners, cyclists, horseback riders, as well as water trails for canoeists and kayakers.
Funding Information
Maximum awards are $10,000 for trail projects and $1,000 for start-up funds (legal and IRS application fees) for those interested in establishing a nonprofit trail group.
Eligibility Criteria
GFI will provide matching funding and other forms of support to 501(c)(3) organizations to accomplish projects which protect, enhance, preserve or develop areas throughout Indiana for enjoyment and use by the public. They expect the applicant will have matching funds and their grant will fund 50% or less of the entire project.
