The Board has supported the Neighbor Up Network, an initiative beginning in the city of Lorain to bring together residents in a weekly series of conversations about structural inequality, asset-based community development, and community network building. The Board and staff are also participating in Racial Equity Institute trainings a to better understand racism in its institutional and structural forms, and modern-day racial inequity.
This fund is currently awarding mini-grants between $500-$1K to groups or organizations with projects that:
- Educates the public about diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Brings about impactful, measurable improvements in racial equity
- Provides the opportunity for community-based discussions on the topics of racial equity
Eligibility Criteria
- The Community Foundation of Lorain County invites non-profit organizations to help deepen the work in promoting racial equity.
- Their Board of Directors has created a Racial Equity Fund to support the transformation of structures and systems with the goal of providing access and equal experiences.
