The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) is seeking proposals for honey promotion and outreach projects.

Details:

Proposals do not have to be elaborate or lengthy, but they must adequately explain the objective of the project, the intended outcome, how objectives will be met, and the budget in sufficient detail to explain how funds will be spent. The NDDA does not pay overhead or indirect costs on funded projects. A presentation/interview may be requested from finalists.

Each grant proposal in response to this request must include the following:

  • Honey Promotion Funding Request Form
  • A complete summary of the project including rational and how the objectives will be met
  • Budget
  • Information on experience and qualifications
  • Additional information that is considered pertinent and will enhance the quality of the proposal.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Requirements for funding:
    • Projects must have a direct benefit to North Dakota (ND) honey producers
    • Requesters must complete and submit all required documentation listed below
  • Funding requests will not be considered for the following:
    • Legislative or lobbying efforts
    • Political campaigns
    • Programs or activities that personally benefit employees of NDDA or board members of the ND Beekeeper’s Association
    • Programs or activities that directly benefit a specific individual or private business
    • Programs that do not have a direct benefit to ND honey producers or the ND beekeeping industry
    • Funding to foundations for endowments
    • Brick and mortar projects.
