The maximum funding amount per project is $5,000. Applicants must show proof of community support for their project.
Eligible projects include
- Security cameras
- Block parties
- Tree-plantings (non-fruit bearing) and landscaping
- Public space improvements such as benches, picnic tables, shelters, or pergolas
- Outreach
- Placemaking
- Public art
Project Ideas
Some project ideas include, but are not limited to:
- Public art
- Block parties
- Outreach and communication
- Public space enhancements (benches, shelters, pergolas, playgrounds, and more)
- Placemaking
- Pop-up events
- Storytelling projects to amplify and preserve neighborhood voices
- Safety tools and education
Projects CAN NOT:
- Create ongoing maintenance costs to the City
- Fund an event that already exists (funds can be used to add to an existing event’s programming)
- Direct financial assistance to individuals or families
- Purchase land or buildings
- Purchase personal electronics
- Pay for travel and accommodation expenses
- Benefit one person
- Pay for planning meals
- Pay for transportation expenses such as gas or mileage
- Fund facility improvements made to a different taxing body
- Pay for operating expenses and software
Eligibility Requirements
- Neighborhood association or HOA must be registered with the City of Peoria
- Project must have approval from the group (at least three members)
- Project must be complete by December 2023
