This FREE, 15- month, cohort-based training program provides Black males in high school with upwards of 800 hours of holistic, trauma/healing-informed, high-touch mentorship and intensive training that seeks to develop youth into strong and responsible leaders equipped with coding and entrepreneurial skills, who can identify and develop tech-enabled solutions to address society’s most compelling challenges. We operate sites in Oakland, Richmond, Los Angeles, California, Detroit, Michigan, and our newest sites in Chicago, Illinois and Atlanta, Georgia (launching in June 2023).
High school students (Hidden Geniuses) participate in 15 months of intensive technical and entrepreneurial training through two 7-week summer sessions and one year of after-school programming. They empower our Geniuses to:
- Create innovative solutions to community challenges and problems
- Hone leadership and entrepreneurial skills and pitch business ideas
- Design their own websites, software, and other technical projects
- Establish healthy relationships and build trust with peers and mentors
Program Eligibility
- Black males of African descent
- Rising 9th-11th graders
- No programming skills required
