Microgrants will be open to established arts agents, new/emerging artists and initiatives, and businesses/organizations looking to integrate the arts into their work. Whether you are a long-time friend of the arts or just getting acquainted – an experienced artist or a novice – we welcome your big ideas and unique contributions! We look forward to reviewing your application and supporting the amazing work of the arts and culture community in the city of Torrington.
Northwest CT Arts Council is seeking proposals that:
- Engage the community: Projects must be free and open to the public and present a clear, realistic plan for audience engagement. Furthermore, proposals should be crafted around concepts and ideas that are connected and significant to the local community.
- Encourage collaboration: Projects that draw on shared resources and strengthen connections between creative people and places are encouraged.
- Celebrate and Elevate Torrington: Projects should take steps to help revitalize downtown, celebrate the culture of the city, and/or improve quality of life for residents.
Funding Information
Grants will be awarded in the range of $500-$2,500
Eligibility Criteria
- Artists, artist collectives, musicians, performers, arts and culture organizations, community groups, social service organizations, local businesses.
- Applicants DO NOT have to have a nonprofit status.
- Applicants must be individual artists who are residents of Torrington OR artist collectives, nonprofits, or private businesses who are located in Torrington.
