Data access will accommodate studies of up to 18 months, from September 2024 to March 2026.
Eligible Research Projects
Eligible research projects will focus on topics related to diet-related health and morbidity to better understand the impact of diet on health, improve treatment, and/or reduce barriers to treatment. These projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Prevalence of diet-related diagnoses such as:
- Obesity and overweight
- Chronic conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, joint pain, or other related conditions
- Treatment for diet-related conditions, including counselling, procedures, medications, and inpatient psychiatric treatment
- Public health surveillance and population health
- Racial and ethnic disparities
- Healthcare costs and utilization.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant organizations must be based in the United States or its territories.
- Applicant organizations must be either public entities or nonprofit organizations that are tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and are not private foundations or nonfunctionally integrated Type III supporting organizations. The Foundation may require additional documentation.
- Projects that already have funding are not eligible for funding under this CFP for the same work. Researchers with funded projects may apply under this CFP for support for related research or an expanded project scope, accompanied by a clear explanation of how the work supported by this CFP relates to work that is already funded.
- Researchers applying for funding from this CFP are required to submit proposals making use of Komodo Health’s dataset.
- To be eligible for an award, research supported by this CFP must be for research or statistical purposes, in contrast to regulatory or law enforcement purposes.
